I can't believe our 3 month visit to Scotland is done! In just 4 hours I will be heading off to the airport to go back to Romania and pack up our things and see and say goodbye to friends - madness! We have slotted into life in Scotland so quickly and naturally that it feels like we have lived here forever. I think this is largely down to the fact that Cristi fell into school life so easily and has thoroughly enjoyed and blossomed in an encouraging, friendly and fun school environment. It has also been so great to be able to be around the love and support of family and meet up with old and new friends. Our time here has been wonderful and you can see some photos (click here) if you would like to see what we have done with some of our time. Thank you once again to all those who made it possible for me to meet, adopt and bring home my wonderful boy. It has been an incredible journey and so very wonderful to be able to finally share where I have come from with him. We appreciate your generosity and kindness so very much.

3 weekends and a little school update
Well we have certainly been busy these last few weeks meeting lots of friends and family members, looking for work, starting school and settling in. It's been all go here but, we seem to be getting used to the swing of things and enjoying life here so far. I am so happy and amazed with Cristi he is adjusting really well to life here helped largely by his new found love for school: "mum school is so fun here and you know my teacher doesn't even hit me". It is wonderful to see him finally being encouraged by a teacher and for the moment (although it has only been a week) he itches all weekend to get back there. His reading of English is blossoming as is he, ah I am just so grateful to see this change in him and for him.

Visiting some of my favourite places
The past few days mum and I have been taking Cristi to see some of my favourite places around here. It has been so lovely revisiting and being able to share these beautiful places with my boy. He has loved going to the beach and like a mad fool keeps trying to go in the water - he doesn't last long! Oh Scotland really is just so beautiful and I am so happy to be back and surrounded by its loveliness :)
Here is a little clip of Cristi enjoying the cooling temperatures of the sea. He was determined but it didn't last long, although in fairness he lasted a heck of a lot longer than I did!
The Hermitage - one of my favourite spots! |
I'm not sure this photo does justice to the magnificence of this waterfall?! |
For years Cristi has asked me how high is the tallest tree I have ever seen and I always told him of the one behind him. Finally he got to see one of the tallest trees in Britain :) |
Love this view - can you spot us? |

So we are here....
The last couple of days have been a bit surreal. There have been a lot of emotions but we are happy to be here and are starting to feel a little settled and relaxed in Buni's house. I think my photo's will do a better job than me at showing our journey and first few days highlights so I hope you enjoy them :)
