Drip
His tiny body lost amongst the blankets of the big bed
Drip
An IV hung on an old coat stand
Drip
Holding his hands as he whimpers in pain
Drip
His starved body has no usable veins
Drip
Patting his back to remind him I'm here
Drip
The sharp needle stuck in his head
Drip
Humming a song to soothe his cries
Drip
The room is stale and hot and empty
Drip
Another child cries as her skin is pricked
Drip
Her hand bloodied and bruised and swollen
Drip
Her mother slips money into the nurses pockets
Drip
Payments for a job they should already do
Drip
Little whimper
Drip
Tiny cry
Drip
My back aches as I lean over him
Drip
I am here little one. You are not alone
Drip
You are special to me. I love you
Drip
My head and heart ache

Sunday's and Springtime
A quiet drive down country lanes. Green starting to appear in the open fields. A lone old man following a horse drawn plough. Friends laughing and talking happy for a day away from the town. Sunshine streaming in through the car windows. Happy children singing. Blue skies. Magpies. A castle looming through the trees. A park full of laughter and joy. Birdsong on the breeze. A quiet town. A quiet street. Bees buzzing in the trees. Chasing us from our quaint picnic by the home of a famous poet. Kites flying through the air. Crashing down and looping up again. Bats swinging. Balls kicked into the air. The sun beats down and gets ready to set. Home again. Bath time. A good day with great friends and beautiful springtime sun.
That was today's excursion. Here are a few more shots from Romanian Springtime so far............
