A story by Cristi

Once upon a time there was a boy called Cristi. He liked going swimming, watching films with his mother and having lots of fun. One day a book came full of homework and the book said “learn, learn!” Cristi said “I will not learn it is vacation”. The book said “then you won’t be ready for school”.

Then Cristi ignored the book and he went out to play with his friends. He had a lot of friends: Ruben, Alice, Casa cu flori, Laszlo (he’s like Cristi’s brother) and Anton & Dani, Caleb, Poiana. They played hide and seek and Cristi counted. He was annoyed because he didn’t find anybody. He said really hurtful stuff to his friends he said “I don’t want to be your friend anymore”. Then his friends said “FINE, we don’t want to be friends either”.

Someone came and Cristi didn’t know who it was. It was a scary lady and she turned into a pretty girl. That girl was called Renata and Cristi loved her but she didn’t know Cristi and she left to play with all the other children. Cristi was sad. If he hadn’t have said that to his friends then he could have played with her too. But, it was ok because he had his imagination. He always played Harry Potter and he had a pretend wand and the other friends looked at him really weird and laughed and that was hurtful.

Cristi went to his friends and said “I am sorry for what I said it was not true you know some people just get angry and want to say mean stuff”. His friends believed him and the friends said “do you want to play another game” and he said “sure”. Then they came inside and all their mothers said “we’re going to swim”. The children said “where?” “to Sarcau”. They played and played until it was time to sleep. Then they lived happily ever after and the homework book who said “you’re right kids need to let out their energy and not do homework in vacation”.

THE END

Free day

Yesterday was a free day and so I went with my friend Simon to a little town in Hungary called Gyula. It is a picturesque spa town with a river meandering through it and many pretty bridges connecting the town. It has a castle and many churches and a wonderful little cake shop which boasts to being Hungary's oldest. There is also a strong Romanian presence there and the town hosts a Romanian speaking high school (very unheard of in Hungary). It was a wonderful day trip and it felt good to be strolling along in this pretty little town. I can't wait until the day I can also take my boy! What a waiting game this adoption is.
