Wow I have been absent.......

I know it has been a long time since I laid some words down here. I know that because the stork chicks are almost ready to fly their nests. The roadside poppies have all but disappeared leaving a lush green spotted with bursts of yellow as the sunflowers chase the sun as it rises and sets. The temperature is rising all the time and the last week I have felt like I am walking around in a daze as the heat slows us down and makes us sweaty and sleepy.

My boy has finished his first year of a badly planned and even worse taught school year (apparently I am a clear advocate for the ability of his teacher and curriculum!). However, I was a proud mama watching him receive his 'diploma' read out of course in order of success not alphabetically and with special emphasis on those who did not do so well (oops I should stop now before my cynicism really shows).

We have held 10 fun filled and tiring day camps for the adults in the state institution. Normally we have held camps consisting of 2 nights 3 days for them but this year were unable to due to an increased security for official papers etc. However we made more camps with smaller groups so we were able to really pour into these guys and mould the camp to their desires too. It was a great time and brought my good friend from Sweden down here too to help which was as always a great joy for me and the ones at the institution.

My best friend (who had been here 6 years) went home which broke the heart of both myself and my boy who was used to seeing him everyday. It's been an emotional roller coaster for my boy this loss of our closest friend and member of our family. But, we are slowly working through it with the help of our friends here, one of whom took my boy to his first summer camp this week to give us both some time - for him fun and distraction and for me peace and relaxation from the constant battle I am facing dealing with Crisit's changing emotions. Thank you girl it has been a blessing!! I am however ready to get him back tomorrow :) I visited today for a short while and he was for the most part a happy camper which was great to see!!

So much has been happening here and the craziness continues as I help to plan and host my other best friends wedding which is in 10 days. So I better get set to the 'homework' I have for those duties!! Which includes working out how best to teach some ceilidh dances to some of the guests so that they know how to dance at the - as requested by the bride - mini ceilidh at their wedding! I mean what is a wedding without a bit of Scottish dancing eh?!! I will let you know how it goes.

Oh and I have phoned paypal so my donate button should now work - I had been informed that it wasn't so for those of you who had tried to donate it now should be fixed :) please feel free to donate (or not) to our funds. Thanks friends xx
